How Long Does It Take to Replace a Hot Water System During the Peak Season?

Wintertime is what we call ‘hottie season’ in the plumbing industry – meaning that hot water systems are in great demand. So, how long does it really take to replace a hot water system during this time? Read on to find out.

How Long Does it Take for North Lakes Plumbing Co. to Arrange a Hot Water System?

Here at North Lakes Plumbing & Gas Co., we’ve got a great relationship with our supplier, Rheem. That means when we need a hot water system delivered, it can be arranged that same day and sent to your house. We’ll send a plumber there to meet the delivery at your door, and it can almost always be set up that same day. In the instance that it can’t, we’ll endeavour to send a plumber out with a temporary solution to get you through until your permanent system arrives and can be installed.

How Long Does the Installation Take?

A hot water system generally only takes a few hours to install. It will take around 45 minutes to an hour to remove the old hot water system. We take care while doing this because we want to make sure that everything is safe and removed properly for the new system. This includes disconnecting the power and water supply and draining the tank. We will then position the new hot water system in place, re-level the base to ensure the new tank is supported which can take about half an hour. Lastly, we’ll spend another 45 minutes to an hour ensuring that everything is hooked up properly and adjusting the settings to make sure your hot water is good to go! If you’re choosing a gas system, this process might take a bit longer as we’ll have to ensure the gas is connected safely, but all in all, the entire process shouldn’t take longer than a morning or an afternoon. We even remove and dispose of the old tank to ensure you are left with nothing but hot water.

What If There’s an Issue After Your Hot Water System is Installed?

We take a lot of care when installing your hot water system, so there shouldn’t be any issues after it’s installed. However, should you run into any unforeseen problems, we’ll send a plumber out to help right away. We pride ourselves on providing some of the best plumbing in Brisbane, and each and every customer matters to us. If the issue is something that requires another part, there may be a small fee associated with ordering that part, but the service is absolutely on us.

There’s no doubt that North Lakes Plumbing & Gas Co can deliver a hot water system as fast as you can ring up and ask for one. Next time you’re worried about your hot water, give us a call on (07) 3491 8489 during business hours or on 0418 797 940 for after-hours emergencies.
